Three Buenos Aires bars among the best in Latin America: La Uat, Oh No! Lulu and Tres Monos

Three bars in Palermo stood out among the best in Latin America in the latest edition of the Spirited Awards 2024, one of the most prestigious competitions in the cocktail industry.

These awards, given by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation, recognize excellence in various categories, from the best cocktail bar to the best bar team.

Uat, Oh No! Lulu and Tres Monos not only stood out in the general ranking, but also garnered other recognitions: CoChinChina and Niño Gordo, also located in Palermo, were among the ten best restaurant bars in the region, while Sofá, a new bar in Chacarita, took the award for Best New Bar in Latin America.

What makes these Buenos Aires bars so special?

Tres Monos (Guatemala 4899): A classic of Buenos Aires' cocktail scene, led by Sebastián Atienza, Charly Aguinsky, and Gustavo Vocke. It currently holds the 11th spot in The World's 50 Best Bars ranking and is characterized by its relaxed atmosphere with a punk aesthetic, its innovative cocktails, and its commitment to sustainability.

La Uat (Thames 1627): Inspired by the nightclubs of the 70s and 80s, this bar puts a spin on classic cocktails in a retro atmosphere with neon lights and music that makes you want to dance. It belongs to the same owners as Tres Monos and is located inside the Cacho Rotisería restaurant.

Oh No! Lulu (Araoz 1019): A green oasis in the heart of the city, with lush tropical decor that transports you to a Pacific island. Its tiki cocktails, made with rums, fruits, and eye-catching garnishes, are complemented by Hawaiian-inspired dishes like the "Poké."

Beyond the awards: Cochinchina (Armenia 1540): Led by bartender Inés de los Santos, this bar plays with the counterculture between East and West and offers a unique experience that positioned it at number 26 in The World's 50 Best Bars ranking last year.

Niño Gordo (Thames 1810): The duo of chefs and gastronomic entrepreneurs Germán Sitz and Pedro Peña run this renowned bar that combines an excellent gastronomic proposal with a high-level cocktail bar.

Sofá (Dorrego 1301): A new bar in Chacarita that stands out for its young and talented team, led by bartenders Sabrina Traverso and Agostina Elena, winner of the reality show Gran Bartender.

The recognition of these Buenos Aires bars at the Spirited Awards 2024 not only highlights the talent and creativity of the local cocktail scene, but also positions it as an international benchmark.
